About Me

Hi again! I'm Robyn Paradis, a UX/UI student at SAIT. I'm based in Calgary, Alberta, currently working as a freelance digital marketer and project coordinator. I started my career as a small business owner in esthetics, and with a move to Calgary came a move into tech roles. I quickly found a love for tech and all things creative, which meshed perfectly with the UX/UI discipline. I thrive when able to work remotely, and call myself a digital-jill-of-all-trades - comfortable learning, adapting, and solving problems across a wide range of digital tools and platforms.

Experience

Your team?

I'm excited to be open to full-time UX/UI roles after graduating in May 2026. I thrive when able to work remotely, and am excited to keep learning alongside experienced designers. While I'm not new to the tech industry, I am stepping into my first dedicated UX role and value strong collaboration and intentional mentorship.

I help businesses of all sizes bring their ideas to life through web design and front-end development, digital marketing, short-form video and image editing, graphic and logo design, merchandise launches, video captioning, and copywriting across digital channels. I did say I was a digital jill-of-all-trades! :)

  • Designed and built responsive websites with a focus on usability, clear information hierarchy, and maintainable front-end structure, ensuring smooth handoff for small business clients
  • Created and executed digital content informed by platform behavior and audience needs, including graphics, short-form video, on-site content capture, and planned monthly content calendars
  • Supported internal projects by organizing workflows, timelines, and documentation to reduce friction and help teams focus on delivering outcomes
  • Designed logos and visual assets that translated brand goals into cohesive, user-facing visuals across multiple platforms
  • Wrote clear SOP documentation centered on the end user, designing internal processes to be intuitive, scannable, and easy to follow.

Helped Shopify merchants successfully implement, configure, and troubleshoot the first-party themes used for their online stores, providing clear guidance, technical solutions, and best-practice advice across a range of merchant issues.

  • Engaged directly with Merchants to translate business needs into actionable storefront customizations
  • Implemented front-end theme customizations using HTML, CSS, and Liquid, Shopify's templating language, within established timelines
  • Diagnosed and resolved conflicts between themes and third-party apps or custom code, helping merchants achieve their desired site appearance and behavior
  • Document and report bugs to Developers via platforms like GitHub
  • Reviewed Merchant stores to proactively surface potential enhancements and optimization opportunities

Provided expert technical and business support to merchants across multiple channels, helping them solve problems, improve their commerce experience, and make the most of Shopify's tools and services.

  • Delivered merchant support via live chat, messaging, and phone, resolving issues clearly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborated with teammates to share best practices and contribute to a growing knowledge base that improved global support quality
  • Navigated complex technical issues and translated product features into clear guidance for users of varying technical experience
  • Leveraged internal tools to troubleshoot, escalate, and document solutions that helped scale merchant success
  • Recorded detailed follow-up documentation to support continuity and quality of service

As a small business owner, I managed every aspect of the business end-to-end, combining client experience, digital marketing, operations, and self-directed problem-solving to build and run a sustainable service-based brand.

  • Owned all client experience touchpoints, including inquiry handling, scheduling, payments, and follow-ups across multiple digital platforms
  • Planned and executed digital marketing efforts, including paid social campaigns and content calendars built weeks in advance
  • Balanced creative, operational, and administrative responsibilities while working independently and meeting strict timelines
  • Adapted quickly to changing needs by continuously learning new tools, workflows, and marketing approaches to support growth

Outside of Work & Class

When I'm not at work or on SAIT campus, I facilitate cross-team collaboration, track progress on long-term objectives, and document key outcomes… in other words, I play a weekly game of Dungeons & Dragons with friends. 🤓

I also love to read, tend to my plant collection, and play any and all games - video games, board games, card games, you name it!
